Leg room on United 747's
 

Hi;
We are flying from SF to Heathrow via United, economy of course. We have been assigned seats that are right at the galley wall. Do these seats have more leg room with no one in front of you? I am 6'4" and I know what a horror having someone in front of you reclining back onto already cramped legs is like from previous flights on Lufthansa and NWA. Any insights would be appreciated.

Whilst lack of legroom is certainly lamentable, what is your alternative? Can you upgrade to a premium cabin or would you fly another airline?

Yes it is lamentable and I have no problem putting up with it. What I really wanted to know was if anyone has had seats in United coach at the galley bulkhead wall and if there was any more legroom than normal.

This isn't a very specific answer, but while many rave about getting bulkhead seats, I find that there is less legroom. There may be more kneeroom, but you are unable to stretch your legs out as far. In a regular seat you can stretch them out further under the seat in front of you. The one and only time I had a bulkhead seat, I hated it.
