Left Luggage/Excess Baggage Services
 

Checking out of Hotel 87 in Southwark-Waterloo in the AM. Flight departs from LGW @ 2040. Have 3/4 of day to see London. Is the left luggage/excess baggage service similar to renting a locker/storage facilities to store luggage and pick up later prior to departing?

Yes there is left luggage at the train stations - not lockers but staffed storage areas.

I wouldn't use Waterloo though. Are you planning on taking the train to LGW? If so, I'd leave my bags at Victoria. OR - you could even just leave your bags at the hotel for free except for a tip (most hotels will gladly store bags after you check out)

Mostly depends what part of town you are going to be touring where would be more convenient to leave your stuff.

If so it isn't anywhere near Southwark or Waterloo however it is a couple of stops by Tube to Victoria

It was 6 pounds to leave luggage at the major train stations in London when I was there earlier this month. They scan it and then you can leave it there for 24 hours.

Oh - I just took your info at face value. If Hotel 87 is on Old South Lambeth Rd - then alanRow is right. It is definitely nowhere near Southwark/Waterloo. You can leave your bags at Victoria since presumeably you won't be hanging around near your hotel/Vauxhall that day.

yes, hotel 87 was formerly comfort inn vauxhall, so not near waterloo. bags will be checked at victoria, thanks!
