would like your review of hotels I am considering in Paris
Cardinal Rive Gauche
Cluny Square
Grande des Gobelins
Hotel Royal St Germaine
Villa Lutece Port Royal (13th inconvenient locale?)
any other 3-4 star under 170USD for 3 night in Sept?

I stayed at Hotel Cluny Square last October, I am afraid among the hotels I have stayed nearby, the cleaness of rooms & noise level were the worst,it's more a 1-2 star hotel than 3 star. Hotel Europa St.Severin one block away is much better(stayed last November & last month), but a bit more expensive.

You might like to check www.booking.com, there are good deals sometime.

You are never going to find a 4* in Paris for $170 (125€), especially in September. Have you looked at these popular hotels (I know, sorry to add more to your list) -

There is certainly no hotel called the Royal St. Germaine, for obvious reasons. Maybe there is one called the Royal St. Germain.

In the same vein, I would be very surprised if a hotel were called the Grande des Gobelins. However, a hotel called the Grand Hôtel des Gobelins would not surprise me.

You are going to get in a HELL OF A LOT of trouble if you make no distinction between masculine/feminine words and names in France.

Oh, I don't think so, really. Most locals will cut a little slack for being a foreigner, while some might correct your error for you. I once asked our taxi driver if we were in a 'nouveau voiture', he replied "une <i<nouvelle</i> voiture". But he didn't throw me out to the curb.

It's a charming hotel with good rates, with some rooms, like ours, having a little balcony and a view of the Eiffel Tower.
