Filthy southern propaganda! If you have not eaten a decent meal in Leeds yet you just have to get out more. Quality cuisine will not be found in city pubs very easily as they don't have to be gastro pubs to get by. If you want bangers and mash with some water like gravy go for it, but if you want a meal try checking out the better end of the scale. It is worth it.

We had a good informal meal at The Wardrobe by the Playhouse Theatre in Leeds a few weeeks ago.

We were downtown for an afternoon, killing time before flying to Amsterdam. I was amazed how many nice shops and covered markets or galleries there were. We just ate at one of the restaurants in one of these covered shopping lanes, had my first and not last celeriac soup. We aren't generally shoppers but did pick up some nice gifts at the Corn Exchange.
