Leaving tomorrow on AA. Some ?????

We are heading for Barcelona first. Now do I understand no food at all on AA even in am flight?..what are snack packs like?..and any suggestions for food to bring?..I hope there is a movie.

Thanks

I'm assuming you're leaving from the US - I think all int'l flights have food - and definitely a movie. I would check at www.aa.com.

You might want to pick up a phone and call 1-800-433-7300 or even 1-800-882-8880 and ask questions regarding your specific flight. The answers are much more likely to be accurate and up to date than what some of us who have taken that or some other flight in the past will tell you.

On domestic flights the snack packs ($4 or $5) don't give you much food, but they aren't horrible. Prepackage stuff like crackers, fake cheese wrapped in foil, cookies, jerky, etc.

Lunch box is often a wrap like egg salad in am or turkey wrap at lunch. These aren't bad - I much prefer them to the old hot entrees of baked ziti, chicken, rubber beef, etc.

If I'm departing from home I always bring a snack bag with me. Sandwich, chips, fruit, and of course, chocolate, or in the am pick up a bagel on the way or at the airport.

Food that works well on the plane:

ham & cheese sandwich, PB&J sandwich, individual juice boxes, bottled water, trail mix, mixed nuts, dried fruit, apples, string cheese, granola bars, candy bars, cookies, applesauce cups, protein powder (get milk or juice from the beverage cart), yogurt.

i use an insultated lunchbox like kids would take to school.

for ice, i use bottled water half filled and freeze it ahead of time.

Transatlantic on AA you will get food and entertainment in coach with no (extra) charges. If you have noise-canceling headphones I'd take them. Booze will cost you, unlike on most Euro carriers.

AA doesn't fly to Barcelona, so you're changing planes somewhere. Where?

I suspected that this was an Iberian code share flight -- part of the reason I suggested you call rather than rely on what people tell you American does. That may have nothing to do with this flight.

lois - when you go to AA's site, look on the left of the webpage for "travel information"

You can find the movies that are showing for march and april plus other exciting things.

Bon voyage, Lois!

She's flying AA from somewhere to JFK, then Air France to CDG and to BCN. At least that's what she said in her post a month ago.

This therefore shouldn't be asked in the Europe forum, and J62 has given perfect answers about the domestic AA flight.

More specifically, she's flying SAN-JFK on AA.
