Leaving Pariis tomorrow/ thank you fodors/ ring scam

Leaving tomorrow after 4 great days in Paris, thanks to the great support we received from our Fodor friends. We ate in nice restaurants, had fun shopping and missed the great queues at the Louvre all thanks to the advice we received. Also managed to avoid the ring scam! Someone did mention it briefly on here and then as we were walking out of our hotel a lady just happened to find a gold ring on the ground In front of us. She made a great fuss of how it didn't fit her and then offered it to my daughter. My daughter took it and then just as I was suggesting that we should take it to the hotel in case someone reported it missing, the lady asked us for a gift of money in return for her giving us the ring. Right away it clicked that this was the ring scam.
I am sorry to be leaving but I guess that means that it's time to start planning the next trip. Au revoir!
