Leaving in 2 days!!

Frist I want to thank all of you who have given us priceless advice regarding our trip! We are so excited (DH has never been to Europe) & ready to really enjoy ourselves, eat some great food (main reason for picking Italy) & relax after the chaos of the wedding! So here is the itinerary for our HM; if you have any other suggestions please let me know. We don't have definite plans for each day & are trying to leave the schedule a bit open & see what happens!

Fly ORD - CDG arrive early Saturday morning
Staying at Hotel Diana in Latin Quarter
Possibly do bus tour if not too tired that day
Sunday - Versailles
Monday - Louvre
In between somewhere: Musee d'Orsay, Arc d'Triomphe, Notre Dame, eat good food

Fly to Milan via Easyjet
Rent car, head towards Tuscany for 5 days (staying at Villa San Andrea)
do day trips to surrounding towns, eat good food, relax

Drop off car in Florence, take train to Rome
Staying at Hotel Villa Patrizi for 4 days (great deal via Hotwire - not within walking distance, but we wanted something a bit on the outskirts)
Do tour of Vatican/Sistene Chapel with "when in rome tours" (this is still up in the air - i'm still pondering if a tour is necessary or if it would be just as good on our own?)
Visit Coloseum, other sites, eat good food, soak in the atmosphere
Fly home Rome-ORD

Thanks again to everyone & welcome any add'l tips!!

Enjoy your vacation!! Sounds wonderful.

Are you doing the sights in Florence at all, or skipping it entirely?

Just in case you didn't know it, the Musee d'Orsay is closed on Mondays. You'll need to factor that into your "in between time."

We are going to head to Florence for a day; we're only staying about 30 min. away at the villa. Thanks for the tip on the Musee d'Orsay - we'll probably do the Louvre Monday, and Orsay Tuesday (more crowds this way, but it's the only way it fits in the schedule)
