Leaving for Rome Tomorrow...Please Critique my Itinerary
 
Hello Everyone!

First off I would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone for giving me great advice in this forum...I really appreciate all the ideas, tips, and guidance.
If anyone would like to comment on my plans that would be great.
I look forward to sharing my trip report once I return in mid-July.

Monday
Arrival at Hotel Piazza Barberini 4pm
Rest at Hotel
Roman evening stroll at Leisure (Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Gelato)

Tuesday
Borghese Gardens
Borghese Gallery - Tour at 11:10 am
Pick up Papal Audience Tix at Santa Susanna Church btw 5:00-6:45
Mass at Santa Susana Church 6:00 pm
Walk by Piazza della Republica
Evening - Rome at Leisure - Gelato

Wedneday
Papal Audience 10:30 - noon
Tour St. Peter's and Vatican
Scavi Tour underneath St. Peter's Basilica (Necropolis) 3:00-4:30
Castel Sant'Angelo / Stroll Tiber River
Evening Stroll of Rome at Leisure - Gelato

Thursday
Morning Market at Campo di Fiore
Visit Pantheon
Have espresso at Tazza di Oro
Shopping Day at Leisure
Evening Dinner 8:00 pm reservation at L'Orso 80
Gelato

Friday
Coleseum & Roman Forum
Santo Giovanni di Laterano Church
Climb Scala Sancta (on knees)
Visit Vittorio Emanuele Monument (the wedding cake piazza)
Evening stroll and Gelato

Saturday
Depart for Calabria

I don't think you have enough gelato!!!!! Sometime mid afternoon would be just right for an additional gelato. (:

Hi iloveitaly, I sure wish you a wonderful visit in Rome. I am sure it will be fantastic. And yes, go eat all the gelato that you can, Crefloors gives good advice regarding the gelato.

I will definately take crefloors advice. One can never visit Rome to many times, or eat too much gelato!

I'm envious! One caveat: Don't use your detailed itinerary as a check list. If you want to linger somewhere instead of moving ahead, do it. Buon viaggio!
