My dear, firstly I've never worn "Jill" Sander, only Jil Sander, but let's not be petty about that.

As for Dolce e Gabbana and Versace, I've known plenty of girls who look simply fabulous in Versace gowns, not like hookers at all. It's a case of having the right tone skin (usually darker olives) and figure/look to carry it off. When it works, it works tremendously well. Dolce e Gabbana I'm not a fan of, their clothes are a little gimmicky, trashy, and teenage like topshop, but at Prada prices. Vicky and Dave wear it, say no more.

Never mind the typos...
here's the CigaleChanta!

M_K2, our Mimi has arthritis that makes it difficult for her to type. I feel lucky that we get as many posts from her as we DO get. And she is not a stickler for typos anyway; I imagine it would hold her up quite a bit. So never quibble over those little things with her as it merely holds up the interesting tidbits she has to share with us.

Fashion emergency alert--today in the mall, I spotted and woman wearing a jean jacket with BLACK velvet trim on the the cuffs and collars! Yes, it's true! Blue denim and black--stitched together, no less!! M-K2, what should one do when confronted with such a Philistine?! With it, she was wearing a black crewneck shirt and (horrors!) black boots. I didn't have time to tell if they were pointy toed or square toed...

My dear, this person should've have an huge red fox and brown cashmere Gucci throw hurled over them while they are being carried to the security van to await transportation to a gaol to serve time for their crimes.

I am in the middle of moving to the capital of germany and fashion is not an issue at the moment (I am existing on bootleg jeans, cashmere Vnecks.

But this topic make me giggle in the middle of chaos!

I somehow realised that there must be something like a lazy afternoon and questions of comfort and fashion behind my world of boxes, forms, dust and waste!

Will I be able to concentrate on black versus jeans when dressing one day again? ;-)
Thanks

Actually, OWJ, denim jackets with black velvet trim were quite the fashion item a few years back (maybe 5?). That trend preceded the fur (or faux fur) lined denim jackets and vests that have been around the past couple of years.

IMHO, if the denim is stone washed or faded, kind of a light-ish blue, then black looks fine with it. Don't much like the black with dark blue denim as the colors are too close to each other in saturation or tone.

I have news on the fashion front! m_kingdom2, I visited the Jil sander shop here in Berlin and asked about jeans and they told me that they do have only men styles at the moment, but will in the next season have several women styles in jeans.
So maybe we will see a new wave of black /jeans next season...;-)
