Ira, your report was on the front page a few days ago, I loved your descriptions of the inns. Very nice report!

Sounds like an arrestable offense!

Hi L,

Thanks for the heads up.

I feel so proud.

(sigh ...) Your photos of Lake George made me homesick, Ira. Especially this time of year. Looks like you had a great trip!

Hi Ira,

Let it go!!! How many times are you going to respond to your own thread?

TexasAggie Oct 24th, 2006 01:43 PM

Hi ira,
I guess contrary to another poster, I was very appreciative you alerted us over here on the Europe board to your report. I'm even happier to find out you've posted your pictures and are heading that way immediately to check them out :-)

ira Oct 25th, 2006 03:28 AM

In a puckish mood, Barbmike?

Hi I,

No, just sad to see you lowering yourself.

PalenqueBob Oct 25th, 2006 06:06 AM

I'll second Texasaggie's sentiments - many of Ira's many many Fodorite friends welcome the posting. Ira has posted literally thousands of helpful tips and i find him one of the very most self-effacing posters on Fodors. It's just that he has a whole lot of Fodor friends who welcome such news. Some folks like to rain on other folk's parades, and that to me is very pathetic.

But, what if everyone decided to follow suit with their postings?
Nothing against Ira, but I wonder how many points one must achieve to earn a posting on another forum?

<But, what if everyone decided to follow suit with their postings?>

So what? You don't have to hit the thread at all - just let it pass. By responding you are further gaining points, in your words, for the post.

<Nothing against Ira, but I wonder how many points one must achieve to earn a posting on another forum?>

i have no idea what you are saying or meaning to say here - what are you saying?

Hmm ... I thought Barb was kidding.

Ira -- the pictures were terrific. Thanks for sharing them.

Great pictures! Thank you. I believe New England is at its finest in the fall.
Have you ever leaf-peeped along the Blue Ridge? That's quite nice as well.

Some people are such curmudgeons... aren't they? Not even droll... just mean spirited.

Ira your wonderful photos would grace any 2007 calendar! We don't get foliage like that here down south so I am blown away. Nice report but because I've only done very little travelling in the US, lost me except the mention of Williamsburg - I've been there!

ira Oct 25th, 2006 07:45 AM

Thanks for the kind words, folks.

Tod,

You can now look up the names of those towns in NE, and get a geography lesson. :) :)
