Le Train Bleu (on a budget?)
I have read so much about Le Train Bleu that I would really like to go there on my next trip. Is it doable on a budget? I don't drink so I'm looking at food only.

It depends upon your budget; last year this time the prix fixe was 43 euro. It is a very nice experience to dine there!

Hi C2,
If you go, you might want to ask for a table in the smoking section. It is a very nice room toward the back. Less noisy and crowded than the main room, and hardly anyone was smoking when we were there in 2005. ((I)) |
The menu rejane is now 45 euros. It is certainly the best deal.
Here is the website and you can click menu rejane to see what it includes: http://tinyurl.com/j5644 |
THAT's it...I'm there next time
(I had a salad for lunch and read the menu... that was not very fair!! <GRIN>) |
Just for the beauty of it, you'll be pleased. You can catch a view of it in the French film, La Femme Nikita.

if you just want to enjoy the ambience, you may order coffee or a drink.
you are not obligated to eat a meal. we actually just walked through the place, after confirming it was o.k., to show it to a first-timer, and were not ready for a meal or drink. it is a lovely place. at least stop to see it, even if you aren't hungry when you are in the neighborhood! |
