Le Sirenuse in Positano

We are spending a few days in Positano for our honeymoon next September. Has anyone stayed at Le Sirenuse? I hear that it is quite expensive and I don't know how it compares to other hotels. Any other hotel suggestions?

We had dinner there but were staying in Amalfi and not Positano. It was a beautiful hotel with a great view and the service was wonderful. I am sure there are other places less expensive though.

We stayed this summer at Le Agavi. It is about 100 dollars or so cheaper a night. Location is wonderful- they give you transportation to town, the pool is unbelievable, the staff is great, Get the upgraded room and you will not be sorry. The breakfast was also included and was superb. Any questions email me.

Heather, The two " hollywood" hotels in
Positano get alot of press and both are
very very nice if you want to spend the money. I find the Casa Albertina to be
a wonderful romantic option at half the cost. They have a good web site and the
Cinque brothers both speak excellent english. The views cannot be beat. It is
your honeymoon and your money.

Look at the rant and rave section for info on hotels in Positano. Le Sirenuse is gorgeous, but the atmpsphere is ultra-refined and the clientele generally older-- probably-- than you. If you have the money and if quality and fine atmosphere means a lot, go for it. But dozens of less expensive hotels in Positano are romantic and have fantastic views. You can't go wrong either way.

My newly arrived issue of Conde Nast Traveler mentions this hotel in their write up of the Best Places to Stay. I wish I could give you review from experience, but I can't!
Ellen

If the cost is too much for this world class place (I saw the conde naste article also) try the l'Ancora, right next door. Yes, some parking avail. The have a hard to find web site, but they don't market themselves very well. If you search here for positano or amalfi, you should find the thread discussing both. We stayed at l'Ancora, and found it fantastic, about half the price of the Sirenuse. Stunning views from the large rooms out the ceiling high plantation doors, wonderful bathrooms, We were very pleased. The deck out of our room looked out over the Positano beach, harbor, duomo. Like I said, fantastic. Good luck and congratulations.

Haven't used their services but if you're thinking about spending Le Sirenuse prices then you may consider renting a villa.

Check out this website:
http://www.villeinitalia.com/

The pics of what they have in Positano look very nice.
