Le Meridien Apollo, Amsterdam

Bigboy72712,

Haven't stayed there in quite a while, but the reviews on tripadvisor.com seem to reflect my own impressions - definitey less than memorable, but not so bad that I would refuse to go back.

2 other hotels that are nicer and located in the same Nieuw Zuid area (nice residential area near the center), but are more convenient to public transportation are the Hilton and the Garden
www.hilton.com
http://www.gardenhotel.nl/uk/gardenhotel/

Both often have reasonable weekend rates, like the Meridien does.

Hope this helps,
Andre

thanx for the advice. I booked his hotel
through PRICELINE.com and had to pay for it on the spot, so I can't change it
I paid $143.56 total USD for a superior
room! The web site for Le Meridien, says it is a 5 star hotel.

bigboy,
How did you book a superior room through Priceline? It is my understanding that you just bid on a room for two people and take what they give you when you arrive. Go to biddingfortravel.com and you can read two reviews of this hotel.

I guess it was pure luck? I emailed the hotel direct and gave them my reservation number to ask what kind of room we will get, They emailed me back
to tell me a SUPERIOR room was reserved for us.
