Le Marais Walking Tour - Paris - Self Guided
 

Good afternoon.

We would like to do a self guided walking tour on a sunday in paris in the Marais.
We picked sunday so we can go to the sunday Bastille Market.

This list may be too long. It is mostly a walking tour.
I listed a bunch of restaurants and pastry shops yet we very while might eat at the Bastille Market (Bastille Marche alimentaire)
I was thinking of adding The Centre Pompidou to take a picture yet think it is out of the way

I don't know how far some of these are from each other. We welcome suggestions of things to leave off or add and if we should take a taxi at any point to cover more ground as we have one day and our 14 year old teenager prefers to not walk all day. I tried to put this in geographical order directionally yet if you suggest swapping i would appreciate it.

You can plot these out on Google maps to give you a rough ideas on distances and to come up with a cohesive plan.

You do not necessarily need to take a taxi unless you have mobility concerns. There are extensive bus (and metro) lines - sometimes bus is better.

I really hope I am not coming off rude here. You have a lot of threads going on. And details may get lost. Perhaps let's focus on the one before you get too bogged down with specific details on another.

Agreed! In fact, I've found google maps to be quite accurate in calculating distances and even times for walking routes.

I suggest actually following along from a published walking tour (could be from the internet and I'm sure the Michelin Green Guide has one) that gives you historical context so you can learn about some of the oldest streets in Paris. It really is the beginnings of Paris. But don't let that stop you from hitting all those places you listed. Check out the Hotel de Sully. Gorgeous architecture.

And if you manage to go to Opera/ Galleries Lafayette/Printemps, check out the tiny and well-hidden Place Edouard VII. It's a surprise gem.
