Le Clos Saint Raphaël hotel in Amboise

Looking at these lodgings in Amboise, Loire Valley has anyone stayed here and can you give comments? It looks like it is on the river, but near to the train station? Is it noisy due to this proximity? Is it within walking distance of restaurants cafes etc?

Thanks for help

It helps if you include the site to view it.

I haven't stayed there but if I had to guess, that isn't a great location. It is several blocks away from the train station (maybe 500 m), not sure if you could get noise from the trains or not, but it is on a major highway, that is the main reason I would think it could be noisy (the D952 even if they give it a name, which it is also called rue de Blois). I walked from the main part of town to the train station and that was a hike, but certainly walkable (I was on a day trip)-- maybe a mile or two. But I think you'd have to walk over to the main town for restaurants and things, which would be walking across the bridge. It's on a main highway, I wouldn't like that.

You can check reviews on booking.com, the ones in French, if you don't read it, complain about the noise of the cars on the road, the noise between rooms and that there are no shutters or curtains on the windows.

The place looks pretty enough, but not only is it on a highway, it's right smack next to the zone industriel, and only 550 meters from the train station. You have to walk over a bridge to get to anything useful, and it looks like a bit of a schlep.

Thank you very much-I won't book rooms there!

Can anyone suggest an accommodation with rooms/suites for a family of four where we don't have the expense of two rooms? That is why I was considering that hotel.

Thanks again.
