Le Bugue Area

Hello

I have booked a holiday to a campsite close to Le Bugue. There will be two couples in mid-late twenties going. We are drving down from Calais so are looking for a small pretty town with good food to stop of in on the way down to Le Bugue for one night.

Also any tips on some nice places to visit in the Le Bugue area? Interests are sport, buildings, good food and wine!

Thanks in advance for you comments.

I have a house 6 kms from Le Bugue. What campground are you heading to? There are two nice ones and some perfectly dreadful ones.

I would stop in La Rochelle or Ile de Ré on the way to Le Bugue.

I trust you have a decent guidebook for the Dordogne? If not search this board for tips. I could write a book on what to see in the area, but today's a work day.

Oh dear, We are going to St Avits Loisirs...I am hoping this is one of the nice ones!

I have been doing bits of research on the internet and I am going to buy a book before we leave, we are not leaving until 21st August.

Thanks for your comment.

St-Avit Loisirs is fine. Dull little village, but the campsite itself is 4 stars and quite attractive.

Do you have my 20+ page itinerary for the Dordogne. I've sent it to hundreds of people on Fodors. If you want a copy, e-mail me at [email protected] & I'll attach a copy to the reply e-mail.
