layover between sea and athens

Having suffered severe jetlag previously I am hoping to ease the time difference between Seattle and athens with a two-three day layover, I was thinking London, any suggestions?

Eight hours time change between Seattle and London, ten between Seattle and Athens - I don't think an extra two hours will make a lot of difference.

London would be a good stopover, but not for adjustment from jetlag. If that is your only reason, press on to Athens, and get to the islands as soon as you can. There is no better place, IMHO, to recover from jetlag than a Greek isle. :-)

I live on the west coast too - and while I LOVE London, that isn't where I'd stop over for a restful respite. I agree w/ Heimdall, if it was me, I'd get the travel ordeal over with as quickly as possible. And then unwind/recover in Greece.

Thanks for the feedback. I looked at airfare and it really seemed like more $ than was sensible and sitting on a beach/boat is probably the best cure.

Just for the record, I avoid jet leg whenever I can and overnight in London on my way to Italy. I usually book myself into one of the cheaper chain airport hotels, but I sometimes just go into London, staying near the easy access to Heathrow or Gatwick.

I also look at Paris, Munich, Barcelona and Madrid as possible layovers, given my ultimate destination.

Why don't you just fly nonstop to JFK,EWK or ATL from Seattle and then nonstop to Athens? Personally,I would just get to Greece quickly and then regroup over a lovely plate of calamari with wine and moussaka?
