Layover Advice

Hi everyone

I haven't been on here in a while, so I'm not sure if you remember me, unless you know me from Facebook. Anyway I have a question I know y'all can help me with.

I'm going back to Italy at the end of the year. I found a good price for a biz class ticket on Delta. The flight home however has a layover in Paris. (unfortunately not long enough to get into the city). On all of my previous flights overseas, I've always just flown straight to ATL, and then home, I've never had a layover in another country. How does this work? Do I just go to my connecting flight, or do I have to get my luggage and go through customs and all that?

The layover they have is just an hour, I'm thinking that's probably too short. I should also say that it's been years since I've been to CDG, so I'm not very familiar with that airport.

Thanks for the advice,
Johanna

Assuming that the previous flight is on Air France, then you will just head directly to your next flight. If you have time, you will be able to go into the Air France business class lounge - there are several scattered about the terminals. Should be very painless.

You will likely need to reclear security when going from one flight to the other. Look for the Access No 1 lane, which is an expedited security lane for business class and elite FF travelers. This will make life easier for you. There is decent duty free shopping in terminal 2E, which is where your flight from CDG to ATL will depart from.

Thank you, travelgourmet. So are you saying that an hour layover is enough?

In business class, an hour is tight, but doable. Any chance you can get a little longer layover?

I check each day to see if they have another flight on their schedule. I think I'd feel more comfortable with a little more time.

I think an hour is cutting it too close! The Access One line will help, but it doesn't get you a separate screening area. Just a faster line into the security screening area...where I find them a bit slow at CDG (or at least it didn't when I was there in December).
