Any lavender fields or farms that can be toured near Marseille?

Then just head up to the Lubéron, as long as you will be there from about now through the middle of August. The fields are especially beautiful arond the Abbaye de Sénanque.

dka - as underhill rightly point out, within a 2 hour (even slightly less) drive of Marseille you get get right to the heart of lavender country -

Best viewing is either on the Plateau d'Albion (around the village of Sault) or the Plateau de Valensole (around Valensole). Both have a major week-end festival themed around lavender (Sault in August and Valensole in July) which are lots of fun, but total mob scenes.

to TMC - your best bet is to train it to Avignon (a bit less than 3 hrs from Paris) then rent a car and head to the above....
