Laundry - Ireland?
 

I am nuts about doing laundry. I don't want to pack a ton of clothes but we are in Ireland for nearly 2 weeks. I have read about laundrettes in towns. Are they very common? Is it drop off so I can pick it up later? We are staying in Dublin, Killarney, Galway, Cong Co Mayo, and back to Dublin. First trip to Ireland so I don't know a lot.

We have plenty of clean rivers with rocks that have been nicely rounded over thousands of years by the action of the water. They are perfect for beating your clothes. Then you can dry them on the gorse bushes (just make sure that there are no goats in the vicinity).

Alternatively, Google "laundromat + <name of town>". Most provide what is called a "service wash". Cong is small, so you might not find a laundromat there.

One time in Cork we dropped the laundry off and when my husband went to pick up it was in a bag all folded neat. I went to take out and they were all wet. Make sure you say wash and dry.

I wear light quick dry layers and as soon as I check in to a hotel will wash out a few items and hang to dry. I love apartments for the washer/dryers.
