Laundry in Istanbul

Hello all!
I will be traveling to Istanbul for 5 days (at the end of a month long journey) in a few weeks and will desperately need to do laundry while I'm there. Can anyone recommend a self-service laundromat or a drop-off place where I can get my clothes back fairly quickly?
Thanks very much!

Well this won't help you directly. We needed laundry done twice when we were staying in Sultanahmet. There were three laundromats within three blocks of our hotel so I doubt you will have a problem finding one. Clothes were ready in about six hours.

laundy is an issue for tourists on everywhere!
So I guess your hostel or hotel will help you find one close.
Where will u stay? so lets ask them. If they dont have or dont know, we can search most close laudry to u.

We stayed at the Hotel Dersaadat and there was a place right next door. They had a window sign that said "modern" laundromat. Everyday we walked by, between parked cars there stood an old-fashioned wooden dryer rack loaded down with drying clothes. I'd have been mortified had I dropped my clothes off and later seen them hanging out for the public's eye.

Oops - that's pretty funny, Jackie. I guess we'll hand ours over to the hotel and hope for the best. :-)

I also think we overpaid at both places. Although they both quoted the same price - I think it was 7TL a pound, or was it a kilo. In any event we should have asked someone beforehand what to pay.
