Laundry facility in Eze, France?
 

We will be in Eze December 21-31. Our goal is to take only carry-on luggage, which will be a first for us and seems to me to be a formidable challenge despite all the tips and techniques I've read. Since we can only take a few days' worth of clothes, we'll need to do laundry. Is there a place in Eze to do laundry (or have it done)?

Secondly, is it really feasible for two adults and two children (14yo boy, 4yo girl) to go on a winter trip for 11 days with just carry-on luggage? I know it's a no-brainer for seasoned travelers -- which we're not (but want to become!) We live in south Texas and don't do "cold" really well. While the temps in Eze shouldn't be freezing, I'm having difficulty wrapping my brain around the bare minimum clothing we need to take and still not be cold.

First of all, I am a huge fan of carry on only traveling. That's all I ever do - including 3-4 week trips. However, in your case, if you are going to be in one place the whole time, and given that you aren't seasoned travelers and that the climate may not be what you are used to - given all that I'd probably bring a bag to check. How are you getting to the place you are staying? Given that it's Eze, and that there are four of you a taxi would probably make sense. Therefore the extra bag won't be that much of a deterrent. Each of you can pack a carry on as if it were your only bag, then put some extra clothes in one or two checked bags. If they get lost at least you are no worse off than if you did just carry on.

Also, four year olds tend to go through more clothes than adults do, when my kids were little I needed more luggage.

But if you still want to try it - you bring a couple of pairs of pants each and re-use them, things like jeans that can be worn several times. Do layers for the top - shirt, light sweater, heavier sweater, jacket, and things that also can be worn several times. If you are just relaxing and sightseeing you don't need a lot of different outfits unless you have specific traveling purposes (like business,a wedding,etc). The things that can't be re-worn, like underwear, you can usually hand wash in the sink. Are you staying in a hotel or apartment?

Hopefully someone who knows Eze will see your question and know about laundry but often small towns like that you would need a car to get to a laundromat.

If all else fails, I am going to Eze in November and I'll look around for you and post when I get back.

I have been to Eze-village (Eagle's Nest) about 6 times so far but it does not look like the village and it's surroundings are large enough to have a laundry. Maybe I'm wrong. I never looked for it while I was there. If you want to know for sure, you might like to send your question to the tourist office of Eze by e-mail. It's easy to find the address by googling. Like above poster, I'm curious too where you will be staying. A hotel for 10 nights?

We're staying at the Eza Vista the entire time. We have a 2-bedroom apartment. I emailed the hotel a couple of weeks ago with a few questions but never received a response.

Coco, your URL got me numbers in Uzès, near Avignon. I suppose it's a lot bigger town than Eze-village so no wonder thealre are a few blanchisserie.

Ok, I did a search using the site coco gave above. There seems to be one "Pressing" outside the village, on Avenue de Verdun 197. That may be quite close to your apartment.
