Laundry

My husband & I plan a 5 to 6 week trip to the UK in the spring. We plan to stay in B&Bs & rent a car. Do most B&Bs have laundry facilities or do larger towns have self serve laundromats?

Just one person's experience here, but we found a laundromat in Bath and a rather odd, but interesting, conversation with other travelers from Texas while washing clothes. :)

Did something similiar for 3 weeks across Europe and found that it's best to wash as much as possible when you do find a place. Some towns do not have laundromats others do....some B&Bs will do a basket for you, we paid as high as $30US in Germany, which was quite high considering we only paid $28 for the room (double, with view of the Alps) and a hot breakfast. I try to take clothes that can be washed by hand and dry quickly for myself (skirts & tops).

Most B&Bs don't offer laundry facilities, but you could find Laundry service in most large towns,if not coin-operated, you could drop the load(charge by weight),and pick up later. Usually I pay 5-8 pounds for one load.

We just did a 3 week trip to the UK and Ireland and brought clothes which dried quickly (ended up washing a lot.) Our apartments in Edinburgh and Dingle had washing facilities, but found only one B&B out of five had laundry service. Cost ranged $6-7.50 GBP for two loads (pick up and drop off.)

And laundromats are called launderettes in the UK.
