laundry
Are laundry services available, either do it yourself, or have it done for you, in larger towns/cities of Portugal and Spain?
|
Yes!
|
helpful answer above.
I will expand. Self-service laundrettes are not so common. It maybe that you have to take your clothes to a dry cleaner.(tintorero in Spanish)(limpeza a seco in Portuguese) Washing prices can vary and is usually charged by the kilogram. |
Ribeira - laundry is not taken to a tintoreria where clothing is cleaned with chemicals. The clothing is wool, silk, etc. The OP is looking for a lavanderia where they are washed with soap and water.

Just Google search the word "lavanderia" and the town names. It's easy to find this information online.
This question is about laundry, not dry cleaning. |
Oh thank you..yes, I was inquiring about regular wash. In Italy we had quite the time finding a place to wash out clothes.
|
I thought dry cleaners often do wash if requested?
|
Some do. Some don't.
|
The question is for Spain & Portugal where we had clothes washed at what would be call a dry cleaner in USA. suze, did you have a some do, some don't experiences? Maybe we were lucky in finding them.

I would much prefer having someone else do my laundry than waste precious time doing it myself! In Italy our b&b owners offered...perfect.

To paraphrase an old sit-comm "Stupid Boy Bedar." They also have washing machines there too. PS the martial of clothing was not discussed. |
Why not have your hotel do the laundry - since it's just washing and not cleaning?
