Laundries in 5th arr., Paris

I'll be staying for sometime in the Hotel Grande Ecole on the rue du Cardinal Lemoine. Has anyone had experience with convenient laundries or dry cleaners in this area? I would like to find a reasonably priced place with same-day or next-day service. Thanks for any help, Joe

I just stayed at the hotel and was able to get our maid to launder our clothes. There is a laundomat across the street, but takes a while to understand. Additionally on the Rue Mouffetard (sp) there are several laundries and laundromats.

We used a laundromat last year near CHEZ MAÎTRE PAUL on rue Monsieur-le-Prince in the 6th.

I have used one several times in the 6th that is right by the corner of Rue Buci and Rue de Seine. It is on Rue Seine on the left as you go from Buci towards the river. Signs are in English as well as France and easy to follow. You just have to know to buy a "jeton" or token from the machine and insert it into the box on the wall to operate the corresponding machine that you put your laundry in. There is a nice bar with coffee right across from it, and a great pastry shop just around the corner -- have breakfast while you do your laundry. I had a hard time getting my coffee for "take away" until the guy finally realized I was just taking it across the street to the laudromat -- so he told me to just bring back the regular cup. <BR>There is another one that I believe is owned by the same people just off Rue St. Andre de Arts, I think on Rue Sequier, or possibly it is on Rue Grands Augustins.
