Late Night Rome - Suggestions

Hello again!

I am getting married in Rome in two weeks time in a village outside Rome.

The guests will travel by coach back to Rome at the end of the night just after midnight on a Friday night and many have expressed an interest in carrying on with the party!

I have a complete cross section of guests - some who want to go clubbing, others who just want a bar playing cheesy music, and then the ones who just want to carry on drinking in a bar somewhere - music optional!

Any suggestions for late night bars in Rome please?

I can then forward this on to my guests when they are on the coach!

Thanks
WonderWoman

Hi WWm - This link has a 'Roma di Notte' (- Rome by Night) section - with info on the various clubs, bars etc.

Hope this helps ...

We had a lot of fun at Birreria Trilussa a few nights in Rome. Some nights they have kareoke (which was hilarious!).

Yes, I just mentioned the OPPIO CAFE, on another thread, futuristic restaurant and bar with its great cocktails, and you can sit out on their open air terrace and drink in the views of the Colisseum and Fori Imperiali right in front of your face-plus they have live music on some nights, Rome DJs on others. This view, on the terrace with a cocktail in hand, would be hard to beat anywhere. Open to 2am. Via delle Terme di Tito, 72 metro: Colosseum

Very close by: ICE CLUB-Via Madonna dei Monti (a small ancient street 20 meters from Via Cavour, and very close to the Fori Imperiali)

This is a real experience-the only bar in Rome constructed of all ice-walls, benches, tables. Ice glasses are filled with-you guessed it-many many different flavors of vodka, grappa, other cocktails. But what is unique about this place is that the ice "furniture" is carved into Roman style columns, benches and bas-reliefs. A thermal cape and gloves are provided to keep out the chill! There is a 20 Euro? cover, but that includes a large cocktail. It makes me laugh, I love places like this-a true place to "chill out" as it were! Yes, it is a bit for the tourists, (meaning Italian tourists as well) but it is fun to experience, and see how long you can last; for me, it wasn't more than a half hour-I'm not good with the cold. Open until around 2am.

One more: FLUID- on the lovely via Governo Vecchio-very modern and futuristic-a stark contrast to the ancient street-it's like entering a cosmic forest, metal vines along the stairway, with a high-tech paper thin waterfall along one wall. DJs are spinning music, there is some performance art going on here from time to time, it's very interesting-good cocktails, it opens in the evening and runs until around 2-3am.

Trastevere is the place for young (and young-at-heart) people at night. You can't not have fun doing the scene around there. And it's so compact, you can really just wander around and go from bar to bar.

Thank you all so much for your great recommendations. Will pass these on to the guests - who, by the way, are staying all over Rome at different locations.
