Late Night Flamenco shows in Madrid. Getting back to hotel?
I'd like to go see some Flamenco shows in Madrid when I'm there in September. But, being a female alone, I'm a little worried about getting home after the shows. The seem to all end at 1 or 2AM. Maybe even later. Looking at three of the most talked about: Cardamona, Las Carbonera and Casa Patas, I'm wondering if there would be taxis outside, would the restaurants call a taxi or could I even walk back at that time, since they not so very far from my hotel.

Casa Patas is 70 mtrs off the Atotcha thoroughfare where you could easily pick up a taxi, and after the performance there would be lot of people heading in this direction. Cardamomo is in an area full of bars and people just off bustling Pza Santa Ana. Las Carboneras is tucked away at the back of Plaza Mayor and the Sam Miguel food market, but here as well you just follow the crowd either towards Calle Mayor or Plaza de Puerta Cerrada,

Shows at Cardamomo start at 9:00 P.M. during the week. I think there is an earlier show on Saturday.
It is a good spot minutes from Sol. We saw Belen Lopez there in April.

Thanks for all the suggestions. None of the places are very far from my hotel and now I feel more secure about the situation.
Do you think I'll need to make any advanced reservations for September or can I wait till I get there to see who is dancing/singing/playing?

I remember walking the short distance back to our hotel after the late show at Casa Patas (2AM or so) and the streets were unexpectedly deserted. It was not a good idea and we were both relieved to reach the hotel without incident. The hotel gates were locked but we knew where the call button was so they let us in.

could you ask you hotel to arrange for a cab to pick you up at the end of the show?
but in September, there are likely to be loads of people around at that time of night - so far as I could tell, Madrid never sleeps!

if your hotel orders a taxi for a certain time it will cost more than just hailing one in front of the venue. The drivers all know when these things are over and if they are in the area and available they tend to gravitate there. if no one comes in two minutes, THEN have the venue call.
