Late June - 12 day itinerary advice

Hi there! Hoping to get some itinerary advice for our 12 day trip to Norway.

We are a couple in our mid-thirties, active, and avid hikers/backpackers/campers. We are visiting Norway at the end of June and flights are already booked, flying into Stavanger and out of Alesund, and we are renting a car. We are bringing our camping gear and plan to spend half the time camping and half the time in hotels or AirBnBs.

Below is our draft itinerary. Would love to get your thoughts on it, specifically what to do with the two days we'll have in the Sognefjord area. Do you base ourselves in one location and if so, where?

Day 1 – flight lands in Stavanger around noon, pick up rental car and hang out around town.

Day 2 – Hike Kjeragbolten, overnight in Lysebotn. Or drive to Pulpit Rock and camp at the top (I read that doing both in one day is exhausting and not recommended so we will plan not to do that, but will see how we feel the day of).

Day 3 – Hike Pulpit Rock, drive to Odda
Day 4 – hike Trolltunga, overnight Odda
Day 5 – Bergen
Day 6 – Bergen

Day 7 – This is where I’m a little stuck. We want to spend a few days around Sognefjord and possibly Jostalbreen. Should we base ourselves in Balestrand, Solvorn, Sogndal, or another town? I know that Solvorn is a farther drive from Bergen, but it looks like it’s a nice drive, partly on a National Touriste Route? There are so many options to choose from. If we want to book a RIB boat tour or go kayaking etc, is one town a better base than another?

Can someone also advise on wild camping in this area? If we decide to play it by ear and not book lodging in advance, will we be able to find wild camping spots in the Sognefjord area? We will have our camping gear with us so that's definitely an option.

We want to see a few of the stave churches in the area, and also do a bit of kayaking and short day hikes. Should we spend one night in this area and one night in Jostalbreen on our way to Geirangerfjord?

Day 8 – TBD, based on suggestions above
Day 9 – overnight Geirangerfjord
Day 10 – overnight Geirangerfjord
Day 11 – drive to Alesund
Day 12 – early morning flight out of Alesund

Overall – are we missing anything big with this itinerary? Thank you in advance for your help! How did we ever plan trips before the internet!
