late February - 4 nights Rome - then where?
My husband just found out that we will possibly be awarded a trip (from his work); the trip will be Feb 26 - Mar 2 in Rome.
We would like to add another 4 days to this trip, either before or after.
We've been to Rome for a few days before, but it was about 8 years ago.
Should we add Paris (we've never been there), Venice (never been there), or another place before or after Rome? Or should we just stay in Rome?
We realize that the weather will be cold just about anywhere we go. We'd like to be somewhere that has easy transportation to or from Rome.
Any ideas? Thanks very much.

Hi S,
You could fly into Venice and out of Rome.
See www.trenitalia.com for train schedules.
If you book 60 days in advance you can get 1cl tickets for 29E instead of 64E.

Hi Samsaf,
I would go to Venice! My first visit to Venice was in the month of March and we just loved it. No crowds and the weather was cool and slightly damp, just enough to wear a coat, but no gloves or hats needed. Very atmospheric and great for wandering.
Take advantage and go! Very easy to travel between Rome and Venice by train.

I'll add another vote for Venice. We were there in early March of this year and loved it. It was chilly, but not uncomfortably so, and a lot less crowded than the other times I've been there (October and May). Have fun!
