Last train - Cannes to Nice - Coming home late...

My husband and I will be travelling to the French Riviera in June for some beach and fun!!! I have spent many hours this morning reviewing the French Riviera posts, and I have decided that St. Tropez is just too inconvenient for a short stay near summer. We will be spending 4 or 5 days in the french riviera - we like to stay out late and have fun. I scared if we base ourselves in Nice and stay out late in Cannes, we can't catch the train home. (No car) Can we take a cab? Or should we just stay in Cannes for a night? How about Juan Les Pins - cab from Juan les Pins to Cannes (or reverse) or Nice? Too far? Too expensive? What is the best way to get home late at night. Also will be visiting Paris, Corsica and Sardinia.

Currently, the last train from Cannes to Nice (Ville) leaves at one minute after midnight; I think the next one is about 5:00 AM or so. The trip takes a little more than 1/2 hour

Wherever you are if you do decide to take a cab late at night sometimes the best way to get one is to go to a nearby hotel and ask them to call one for you rather than searching the streets.

We did this once from Monte Carlo back to Nice well after midnight and a hotel was the only place we were able to get a cab from.
