Last night in Rome-stay near the airport or not?

I've had a similar departing flight (going to SFO via Atlanta or JFK), around 10 or 10:30.

I would *definitely* spend the last night in Rome! I've spent my last night at Albergo del Senato and at a Trastevere B&B and both worked great (got hotel-arranged private car to airport; probably 50 eu; I am envious of that cheap train fare).

I preferred staying in Trastevere for the last night--easier to get out of town going to airport, wonderful strolling and very many lovely dining options; also much less expensive. But if $ no object you can't go wrong staying in the historic center, providing you schedule your departure in time. Also check to make sure which terminal you depart from for ease once you get there--for me, US bound, it was Terminal 5.

Sorry I see now that you've booked a hotel; have a great last evening there; I don't think you'll regret your decision.

annw-thanks for the terminal departure tip-I would not have thought to check for that!
