Last minute trip to Capri
Planning a last minute trip to Italy, leaving in less than a month. I have a handle on the rest of the trip but cannot find solid info on Capri. We would be arriving from Florence, through Naples. and spending 2 nights 3 days on the island. We are trying to keep to a conservative budget, and are willing to stay in hotels, bed and breakfasts, and also air b&b's. (Hopefully $300 or less) It is just my husband and I going, and we don't mind walking a bit!
With all that being said, what is there to do on Capri? I've read about the grotto, and some shopping, drinking and eating, of course! But it there any must do activities or not to miss area's/shops?
And then we get to lodging!! Anacapri vs. Capri. Anyone have any recommendations on where to stay? Any help with planning this part of the trip would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Nnothing better than takeing a look at booking.com To knoe hotel prices. IMO stay in Capri and visit Anacapri, via bus or taxi.
Some good atractions are San Michele church in Anacapri, Monte Solaro for the views. Piazzeta, in Capri, the main street in Capri, realy high prices in best brands.
Giardini di Augusto, in Capri. May be a boat tour throgh Faraglioni.
Enjoy your trip.

Well I love Capri mostly for just wandering, the residential areas are gorgeous - you can do some serious hiking if you are so inclined. If you are going in Sept. it could easily be warm enough for some sun-worship, not sure if beach clubs will still be open.
In Anacapri there is a chair lift that is fun - you can ride up and walk down. There is also a church up there with an amazing mosaic floor and a villa, San Michelle?
Anacapri is quieter - Capri town more centrally located as far as where to stay. IMO the island is good for a bit of down time from the vigors of sightseeing in other places in Italy.

Good news – you still have time to consult a guide book or two! And I strongly encourage you to do so, as you might learn things you don’t even know to ask. In comparison to the cost of your trip, the cost of a guidebook will be nominal, and you will have a wealth of information at your fingertips. For that matter, you can consult one at a local library or book store....
The Villa San Michele, in Anacapri, is one of my favorite places on Capri:

For a place to stay on Capri, you might consider the Hotel la Tosca. At least when I was there, it fit the needs of a “conservative” budget.

Thanks Everyone!
I did purchase the Fodor's guidebook about two weeks ago and have been getting some great info, it just doesn't have too much on Capri itself.
I am looking into la tosca hotel, and think it might be the one, especially because I do not see us being in the room too much! Plus, it was one of the guidebook suggestions also!
As far as other books go (i've noticed a lot of people suggest getting some) is there one in particular that you guys like? I'm definitely not opposed to grabbing another one if you think it will help! Thanks

Don't miss Hadrian's Villa Jovis remains - in awesome setting high above sea -it is said Hadrian would toss his enemies off the cliff to their deaths.
