Last Minute Restaurant Recommendations For Wedding/Honeymoon Trip - PLEASE!!

Hi All,

We are leaving on Sept 1st for our wedding/honeymoon trip to Italy. We would love some GREAT restaurant recommendations in any of the following cities. We are looking for nicer places and reasonable places - we are open as long as the food and wine are great. Also - any special/romantic spots would be great too!

Here are the cities we will be visiting:

Florence
San Giminagno (for lunch on a day trip)
Lucca (for lunch on a day trip)
Postiano (lunches and dinners)
Capri - lunch on a day trip
Pasteum - lunch
Amalfi - lunch/dinner
Sorrento - lunch/dinner
Agropoli - lunch
Rome - lunch
Spoleto - lunches/dinners

Also would love your best suggestion for the ideal post wedding luncheon - preferably something with a memorable/spectacular view. We will be getting married late morning and planning lunch around 1pm. We are getting married in Positano so anywhere in that area would be great. We will be getting a driver that day.

Thanks in advance for all of your suggestions!

You may want to spend some time at www.chowhound.com. They have an International board that will have some great places to eat in many of the places you're going to.
Enjoy,
Newt

mgfit, if you are in Amalfi take the short bus ride up the hillside to the WWW.ristorantesangiovanni.com in Pontone for lunch on its terrace.

In San Gimignano, if it's a nice day, Le Vecchie Mura (sp?) has a lovely terrace with a view over the countryside. It's also a little away from the main tourist "drag". It's reasonable and the food is good.

Sounds like a fab trip...I can think of no better place to marry than Positano..we spent a very memorable week there in 2002 after visiting from our Sorrento honeymoon in 2000 (we are off to Sorrento/Capri in September). You don't say where you are staying in Positano (we stayed in Villa Franca) but I would reccommend the restaurant at the Hotel Sireneuse..wonderful food and lovely terrace. I would also say take a private water taxi to the Hotel San Pietro (water taxi is a cool way to arrive - trust me!, you can always get your car to collect you) bellinis on their terrace are the best..followed by a yummy dinner...have fun, and wish you all the best for the future!
