Last-minute HELP please...Any flooding in Switzerland (besides Basel)?
Our flight takes off in 6 hours. When we arrive in Zurich, we were planning to drive north to Schaffhausen and Stein-am-Rein before heading back down to stay in Luzern.

Should I re-think this plan? Are these lovely towns and the mighty Reinfalls going to be more hassle than they're worth right now due to high water levels?

Anyone? I'm leaving work in 2 hours! Need some advice ASAP.

Bonjour Mr Go,

no flooding that I've heard of, and it is sunny now all over the country.

Have a safe and pleasant trip.
|
Mr. Go: Come!

Beautiful sunshine here in Switzerland, today and for the coming days.
No major problems re. the floodings.

Basel wasn't hit, just the River Rhine was a little too high for traffic between Rheinfelden and Basel.

Bonjour Florence! :o)
|
Merci beaucoup, Florence and Ursula! I'm all packed and ready to GO!

There was some high water in Basel on the Rhine, on the Thur (just south of Stein), in the Lake Thun outflow at Thun, and in Bern. However, no damage to worry about.
On the contrary, you might find it rather exciting. Head for a good waterfall or two. You have the Rhine Falls, which are flat compared to the Alpine falls in the Lauterbrunnen valley or Hasli Valley.
