My trick to remembering things is to start at your feet and work your way up your body.. shoes, socks, pants, belts, underwear, t-shirts, by the time you've gotten up to your mouth and hair you will have covered almost everything you'll need (personal items, anyway).
Have a great trip!
|
Don't Forget your sense of humor, vital when traveling and dealing with the travel "disasters". Send regards to the owner of the snack bar next to the Savoia Jolanda in Venice, she served a great American breakfast with beautiful views of the lagoon.

Enjoy!

Capris?

Call the airline & confirm your flight time! (sometimes they change without notice).
|
Big zip-lock bags - useful for dirty laundry, esp if wet, and many other uses.
Earrplugs - if you need assured quiet on the plane.
Refreshing foot powder and creme, bandaids.
Small travel umbrealla.
Medicines - over the counter and Rx (ex: allergies?, antacid?
Calculator
A true sense of wanderlust.
|
If you have
(a) your passport
(b) your tickets
(c) a credit card,
there is nothing in the world you can't survive. Everything else is just a bonus.
Have a fabulous trip!

Regarding calling your credit card companies to alert them to the fact that you will be in Italy on whatever dates. Don't waste your time unless you get the number for whatever security service they use! I called and informed them & the whole time I was in Italy, phone called were being made to my old phone number (months out of date!) asking me to call them. Obviously I couldn't - I was in Italy. Thank goodness they didn't cut me off too. Seems they don't communicate with their security/fraud services very often. You would think they would care!
|
Now, just a calm spirit & an open mind for this adventure. (Also, while there please take notes & report back to us on this board after you return!)

Chris, have a great time with your family!
BC

Guess the Go's are ready. But, Mr. Go, (as one John Kennedy Toole fan to another) just make sure you keep your VALVE consistently wide open in Italy so you can enjoy and appreciate thoroughly. Sounds like Fortuna is ready to take you on an upward spin!
