Last min. travel to Europe over X'mas 2011
 

Hello. Looking for suggestions for a solo traveler to Europe over 7 days & X'mas falls in between those days.Been to Paris/Amsterdam/Brussels before, but never over holidays; which I hear most places in Europe are shut down. Looking for basic sightseeing, not nightlife; any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

London or Istanbul?

London is a blast at Christmastime. Weather may be a little dicey but who cares! I had a ball there last year. There's so much excitement in the air, the streets are bustling with shoppers and of course all the decorations and tree lighting ceremony at Trafalgar.

London would be great. Or, what about Rome?

What about Xmas market cities? Prague, Vienna, Munich, etc. Markets are fabulous.
