I am considering asking Santa for the EEE laptop for Christmas. Is it possible to buy the charger there in Munich? I would rather do that than bring a converter and adapter. |
scatcat...
You won't need a converter... the charger that comes with the EEE will do both 110 and 240 volts automatically... you'll only need an adapter for the Euro style wall socket. The business end of the charger is also smaller than any other laptop AC unit I've ever seen so shouldn't be a problem to pack. Better to have it with you than to find one unavailable when you get there. Rob |
Thanks Rob,
This small laptop seems to be perfect for me to pack. I just hope there is one available now. |
Hi scatcat, I preordered my EEEPc at www.litec-computer.de Itīs just a few meters from the central station and theyīre the least expensive place in Munich for such things. I doubt, theyīll have it available before christmas but if you need any other hardware, thatīs the place to go. Just a small store, but sometimes great prices!

You could also preorder the German Version in Munich, if you donīt mind the different keyboard layout. Itīs a little cheaper and you could apply for a tax refund.
Paris Amsterdam, are you going to install XP, or do you think itīs not fast enough? How long do the batteries last? Thanks! |
I don't know if flygirl is still reading this, but why couldn't you just connect your camera to the hotel tv? Most cameras come with the right wires and hook ups to do it. That would be free.

kelliebellie - Not all hotels have TVs you can connect to. On my trip through Germany - Salzburg - Venice, there were 2 hotels we couldn't connect - the TVs didn't have any jacks for the cables.
