Lap Swimming Pool in Berlin
Hi everyone.
I'm leaving for Berlin next week and was hoping that someone could recommend a clean, inexpensive pool where I could swim laps during my stay. Thanks in advance. Ross :-) |
Here is a list of indoor pools in Berlin. Berlin-Mitte means central Berlin.
The entrance fee is 4€. http://www.berliner-adressen.de/Frei...wimmbader.html |
I don't suppose that it would still be open at this time of the year as the weather cools down but I read an article about this barge thats floating on a river in Berlin that has been converted into a swimming pool. The pictures looked amazing and really cool; and there was a man-made sand beach on the shore line too.
What a unique place to swim in and sun on ! (I also swim a lot and try to do so while travelling). Apparently mid-city man-made 'sand strips' (beaches if they're beside a body of water) are popular and becoming common in the heart of the hip cities of Europe. Huge quantities of sand is dragged in spread on the ground or concrete to create a beach. 'Fraid I don't have more details on the Berlin one but I'll do a search and post more info if I find any. |
Dear Ross:
I bookmarked this site because we are a family of swimmers. There are lists of swimming pools around the world with even some reviews: http://www.swimmersguide.com/query/Main1.cfm (I found this site after my daughter insisted we find a public pool in London. We found a great pool that time by just using the phone book, but this site would have been useful!) |
Marsha thanks for posting that link!

check out swimmersguide.com. we use it to find pools worldwide; they have a list by city with prices, size, hours, reviews, etc.
