Languedoc-Cities

Plan to spend 2 days in Beziers on business and then on to Avignon for 3.
Looking for a fun city in between with good dining and night life.
3star hotel recommendations as well.

Montpellier and Nimes are the only cities between Beziers and Avignon. Both are wonderful.

You could also stay in Carcassonne. The old city is attractive. But you could stay in the town and enjoy a nice dinner and a pleasant town.

I agree with StCirq one thousand percent!

I'm afraid travelgirl is geographically challenged on this one !

As St Cirq says, only Nimes & Montpellier would offer anything approaching a night life (particularly out of the season). Arles is maybe a possible, but is smaller and a little off the route.

Montpellier is your best bet. Are you by train, car, what?

Check out the tourist office in Béziers upon arrival. We were pleasantly surprised to find it a very vibrant little city with a variety of "happenings". You might find some intersting things to do the evenings you are staying there. We were ble to catch a live performance of Vivaldi's 4 Seasons at the Cathedral, overlooking the lower town and river valley. The concert was exceptional and the setting was "Wow". Bézier does not lack for good eateries either!
