Language Translation

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a website which will translate for you? I am looking for a facility which would enable me to input French text and then click for a translation into English.

I have requested information from several tourist offices and had it posted to me in England. They always send purely French text and I am left trying to break it down and understand it all.

Thanks

Buzzy,
Yes there is such a site. There is no fee for the service, but you must register & they will issue a password to you for access. The service can translate what is in an entire URL or if you want to type in text, it will translate that.

It's systranet.com

Good Luck,
Kathy

I know this doesn't answer your questions as asked, but I can tell you what I did. Time wasn't really a factor in a translation I needed. I brought to the local high school and spoke to the French teacher. I was hoping she could do it for me (I was willing to pay for it) She decided to have her advanced class translate as a homework assignment. I got it back in about a week.

And don't forget that the test of translation software is to get it to translate the text from one language to the other & then back again. You'll get some hilarious gibberish this was !

Try the scholastic education website -
www.epals.com/translation/translation.e -
they go from english to a number of languages, and also back to english again.
