Language programs in Spain - Don Quijote, Enforex??
 

We are looking into a Spanish languge immersion program for this summer. Two questions: any feedback on Don Quijote or Enforex and can you recommend a school? Is three weeks too short to really learn anything. I have six years HS and college Spanish, husband has worked in soccer so his is limited. Any thoughts?!?!?

Hi Meatpie,<BR><BR>Look into the program in Salamanca at the University there. I took the three-week program and learned (remembered) much. It's more adult-oriented than some of the others, I think. And Salamanca is beautiful. The program is called Cursos Internacionales -- La Universidad de Salamanca.

i went to a school in sevilla called CLIC. i believe the website is www.clic.es<BR> i planned to study for 2 weeks and enjoyed them. then stayed on an extra week because of 9-11 and they were great allowing me to stay in the &quot;dorm&quot; an exta week with out taking and paying for an extra week of classes. when i went in sept most of the students were young, college age but there were older people there as well. i would say summer would be unbarebly hot. in sept. it got up to 90 degrees. CLIC does have a school in barcelona too i believe. they are affiliated with International House whose website is <BR>www.ihworld.com<BR>oh and 3weeks is fine. i would say one is too short. and clic had outings planned on weekends which were great(beach, hill towns, flamenco shows)<BR>hope this helps!

I know this post is old but my daughter's high school Spanish teacher always uses Enforex. She has tried several different companies but liked this one best. She takes a group of students for 2 weeks every summer to the one in Salamanca and they stay in apartments that the school arranges for them.

My sister went to Don Quijote in Salamanca and Barcelona last year (you can study in different cities in the same stay). The service is excellent and they helped her in everything she needed. We found info about Don Quijote in www.spanishspain.com.

In addition to the school you may wish to consider weather. Most of Spain is miserably hot in the summer. Look at Lenguaviva in San Sebastian. Well organized and serious about what they are doing. I did 3 weeks and hope to go back. I have also used Don Quijote in Sevilla and Sociedad Hispano Mundial in Granada. My experience at Don Q was not as good as at the other two. Lenguaviva and Hispano Mundial are both first class. I'd opt for the weather and food in San Sebastian!

I think that for summer I would choose San Seb. due to the heat else where. Salamanca is great but will be very warm.. A vote for SS and make sure to enjoy the ambiance (cava, rosado, pintxos, great beaches) whoops it is school you are after..Right!!!

This is a ten+ year old thread. I'm pretty sure the OP found what he was looking for - or didn't . . .

It would appear that clre is promoting his/her school in Salamanca (only one post). No other reason to dig up such an old post.
