language immersion

Any experience with a one week language immersion program? Location and rates? Quality of program? Apartment?

Don't know what language or location you're referring to, but in general, you might have some fun, but I doubt you'll learn a whole lot in a week. I'd take the week and run around the country/city rather than sit in a classroom, just my humble opinion.

Look up Centre Linguistique pour Etrangers (CLE) on google. You can go and take a week, 2 wks,3, etc., course. It's located in Tours, and I highly recommend it. I spent 2 wks there, lived with a French family, arranged by CLE, or they also can recommend apartments, etc. Folks from all over the world, all ages. It was a real interesting experience that I'm glad I had. I would recommend minimum of 3 wks, but 1 wk. is better than nothing, esp. if you already have some proficiency with French. It is a private school, and the ration of teachers to students is 1/7 (or 8, can't remember exactly); private lessons available.
