Language courses in Italy

I would appreciate any feedback about language courses in Italy, preferably in Tuscany or Umbria. Thanks

Cruiseluv, these are 2 websites that might be helpful. This first one is from someone on this board that studied there and the 2nd one is from our guide that we had in Tuscany saying that it was one of the well known schools in Florence. Also do a search here on "language schools".

Hi, Cruiseluv. There's a school in Perugia, the University for Foreigners (l'Universita per Stranieri). The website is given aswww.unistrapg.it and there appears to be a branch in Siena.

Dear Neil,
Small world! Fancy Meeting you on a site like this.
AndrewDavid

cruiseluv,
I spent 2 weeks in ZFlorence at ABC Centro di Lingua e Cultura Italiana. www. abcschool.com

small classes; good teachers, excellent cultural additions, I learned a lot. They found me a great apartment near the school across from Santa Croce.

Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Neil is one of the main correspondents on the Australia site. He helped us plan our recent month down under.

The Perugia School of Foreigners is one of the best known in Italy. My sister was there for a month a couple of years ago and had a great time.

When are you planning to go? My son and his girlfriend are going to Scuola Leonardo for a 4-week course this summer. I'll post back, but it won't be for awhile.

Hi,

while we stayed at Casina di Rosa (http://casinadirosa.it7), south of Siena, we were recommended to have dinner in an agriturismo, a holiday country inn, called Fattoria Nuova Pievanella. By the way, it ia a very beautiful place, although a bit expensive... at least for the two of us.
They arrange language classes with a private tutor: there were some German ladies with a teacher when we went. The have a website: http://www.pievanella.com/

That might be nice if it is in your budget.

Andrew, thank you for your input. I'll check out their website and get back to you if I have q's.
Stardust, Do you know if there are courses for 2 weeks or is it at least one month? I'm having trouble getting to their website.
dmlove, I'm just starting to do research. It'll probably be next year or 2006, so I would appreciate to hear about your son's experience after he gets back. Thank You
Rachel, thank you, I'll check it out

I just had a look at the website of the University for Foreigners in Perugia (http://www.unistrapg.it) and it's not user-friendly indeed. When downloading the application form, it indicates the possible dates. It seems normal courses are 3 months, although they also have 1 month courses, but that's the absolute minimum it seems.
