Lance's France

A very good show on Travel CH tonight. A guy drives and bikes the 2005 Tour de France route. Great photography of many places I have been.

I'm watching it right now. Finally the Travel Channel is actually showing travel, and not the world poker tour.

I wish I'd known it was on, I would have made the effort to catch it from the beginning. I caught the last half and thought it was pretty good. The last segment assuaged my jonesing for Paris a bit.

Oh, pooh. If anyone finds it will be repeated please post.

I looked on the Travel Channel website for repeats the rest of this week, but didn't see anything.

Of course, they will repeat episodes of the stupid show, Haunted Tour of ____, but not of something good.

Is this the same show that was on right before the Tour began this year? If so, I saw it then and it was very good.

Oh, yes a poker free two whole hours on the travel channel or four hours if you count the repeat.
A good show but I got sick of the constant name dropping "If Lance would slow down on his bike for a minute he might want to try this cheese, if Lance wanted to take a break he may want to go to this hotel, Lance, Lance, Lance..." I didn't think the show had anything to do with him. It followed the Tour de France route and showed the briefest clips of the race but basically it was a very good travel show using the Lance Armstrong name to try and sell it to viewers expecting to see a poker match in Vegas.

If only they had stopped to play poker along the route.

I think my issue with the Travel channel is that they named it the "Travel" channel.

Barbara Dec 23rd, 2005 07:47 AM

henneth, then it was the show that was produced to air before Lance's final Tour. It was advertised then as "what Lance would see if he had time" or something. That was the whole premise of the show, it was totally tied into the Tour, not just a travel documentary that coincidentally touched on some of the same places.
