Direct airport buses ran from Stresa to Malpensa when i was last there - check the airport web site.
Not possible by train all the way
Train Stresa to Milan Centrale then transfer to airport buses that leave there frequently
but if buses still run Stresa-Malpensa that's a much quicker and cheaper way to go

Hello lazytraveller, do notice if you take the bus you need to reserve before 11:00am the day before. If you take the bus on Sunday or Monday you need to make reservations by 11:00am on Saturday. Click on the website PalenQ gave you and you will see the phone no. for the reservations. You can no doubt have your hotel do this for you. Otherwise train to Centrale in Milan and take the shuttle bus from there back to Malpensa. Here is their website.http://www.malpensashuttle.it/e-default.htm
