lake garda worth a visit?

I will be in Venice for 3 days this winter and would like to see the lake garda area for a few days too. Is it still enjoyable in the winter? Which city or town shall I stay in?

I can't vouch for Lake Garda in winter, but we were there this June and loved it. We stopped there for one night on our way to Venice from Chamonix, France. We stayed in Sirmione, which is on a pennisula with a castle you can visit on the tip. The small town is also very nice for strolling about.<BR>

I would certainly think Lake Garda is worth visiting. Sirmione on the south end is nice, but actually most of the scenery all the way around the lake is beautiful. I like the east coast a bit more, and particularly the village of Malcesine. Also, the north end of the lake, around Torbole and Riva, is very pretty.
