Lake District in March?

I'm planning a trip to Keswick in March '04, without a car. Since this is before Easter, will transport options (Mountain Goat tours, boats on the lake, buses) and activities be operating? Thanks!

Eljay,

I was in Keswick in March of '01, and everything seemed up and running, although the schedules seemed abbreviated as I recall. Came in via rail from London, to Oxenholme, transferred to Windermere, stayed there a couple of nights, and then took a bus to Keswick, which, by the way, I found to be a more charming town. Stayed at the Edwardene Hotel. Nice friendly low-key small hotel. Here are some helpful sites for you to check out. Happy travels. Ando.

It'll be windy, chilly, wet, and possibly foggy in March, so pack accordingly!

Yes Eljay, didn't want to rain on your parade (pun intended) but I too will be in England in March & wanted to do the Lake district. My English sister-in-law said the weather is likely not to cooperate & thought the Lakes would be miserable in bad weather.
