Lake Como - where to stay?

Need some help in picking out areas/hotels for late July. Availability isn't great at this time. Where would you choose? Varenna, Mennagio, Tremezzo, or Bellagio. I will not be driving. The Seabolloni seems to be the only reservation I can find in Bellagio at $475 per night mind you. Is it worth it compared to something like the Grand in Tremezzo? What else would you recommend? Thanks

Varenna is my pick ,try allbergo milano ,hotel victoria ,villa capressi,or hotel du lac. There are others cheaper and they were available last july when we turned up without reservations and secured a beautiful lake front room in the victoria for 176 euro per night[i hope this is right].Varenna is perfect for seeing all the lake and has sensational sunsets ,great food and a small village atmosphere.
