Lake Como, Italy
Will be in the Lake Como area early September...Would like to visit the others lakes too...Need ideas where to stay etc...We are healthy seniors, that are foodies too...

Visit other lakes from Lake Como or separately?
Will you have a car? With car Lake Stresa is not that far but Lake Garda is. |
From Varenna and a few other places on that side of the lake you can get to Stresa by train, but you have to change in Milan. Same for Como itself.
I stayed at the Villa Cipressi in Varenna, which I can recommend. My last trip to Stresa I actually stayed on Isla dei Pescatori, but I'm not sure I would recommend that. https://mytimetotravel.wordpress.com...-on-lake-como/ https://mytimetotravel.wordpress.com...-on-an-island/ |

Stayed in Lake Como last September. If money no object, Grand Hotel Tremezzo is superb.

There is a second posting by the same OP so it would be helpful to concentrate all postings on this one -

Loved staying at the Grand Tremezzo Hotel.
We tend to travel in Europe in Sept....I've had many a lovely Sept. birthday dinners in some fantastic places BUT the one that stands out is at Al Veluu in the hills overlooking Lake Como above Tremezzo. Just sayin! |
