Lake Como in the spring

Having just read with great interest your coments and suggestions regarding Lake Como in the fall, I am wondering what might be the earliest month in the spring you would advise traveling to that area? I am always anxious to tour in the off season when areas are less crowded but also when the weather is fairly reliable. I look forward to your input. Thank you.

Personally, I'd go in very leate May or early in June to avoid possible crowds and have "not too hot yet"
weather

Another vote for May.

I was in Bellagio the first week of May this year, and the weather was wonderful. Still a little cool, lots of sunshine, nice for walking around. I talked to one of the other guests at the hotel we stayed at, and he said that the previous week or two they had bad rain.

I was there in March, and it was beautiful -- cool and clear. Everything was open, and it was not crowded.

Two years ago we were in Bellagio April 26-29. The weather was lovely and, even more important, the azaleas and rhododendrons were in bloom at Villa Carlotta.
